Venezia

Good morning boys and girls

We arrived in Venice yesterday afternoon to blue skies and heat! Ljubljana had unfortunately succumbed to the big old raincloud that is currently passing over Central Europe so our last day and morning there was soggy, to say the least.

But our stay in Ljubljana was great, definitely one of our favourite places so far - especially the mahogany bunk beds, which were divine and very very comfortable - we didn't want to get up in the morning!

This is just a quick post to say that our plans have changed once again - we won't be going to Croatia, as the weather forecast there for the next week is appalling, with thunderstorms and showers every day, so our 'camping expedition' in Pula has been rained off.

We are now travelling down from Venice to Viareggio, on the west coast of Italy, as we have turned into sunseekers and are craving a beach and sun loungers. So we will be there for around 7/8 nights before catching the train to Florence next week.

Our posts may well be rather boring for the next 7 days or so (sun, sand, sea, etc - no sights!) but bear with us - normal operation will be resumed shortly. (May take this break to post some more photos from the last month of travelling)

Hope you're all well and good and that the weather there is nice and warm. MumMina - a little note just for you - we'll be keeping an eye on the weather, Venezia isn't looking too promising at the moment.. but all might change! We will keep a space in our tent for the both of you should you need it! Just bring your own sleeping bag and frying oil! Can't wait to see you.

Lots of love

Hello to both of you!

It sounds like you've been having a brilliant time & have seen some really interesting places. How I wish I was there with you rather than sitting in front of this computer at work!

But reading your blogs has certainly been brightening up my days, they're very well written!! So will miss them while you're relaxing on the beach, but hope you enjoy it & have a relaxing time - sounds like you both deserve it!

The photos are excellent - looking forward to seeing some more!

Hopefully will see you when you're back.

Hi girls.
Lovely to know that you are on familiar ground, not so intrepid, I know, but camping may offer a few unexpected delights.

Please don't stop blogging, even if it's just to tell us how hot it is and how relaxed you are feeling.

Sogginess has reached us too... not that we don't need it.( you know England, a couple of weeks of sun and there's a hose pipe ban!) All grassy bits are brown, and all but the most hardy bedding plants are fried. Alas, there has been no time to sit in it, trying to get to the bottom of all the work before we go away.... We're going to Italy, you know.

Zegna, Chris and boys are back safe and sound, so I expect you will be getting a mammoth 'blogcomment' from her as soon as she has reached the summit of her washing pile.

Love to you both, as always,

Well hello there girlies!!
We are back safe and sound, qhite tired but very brown, which counteracts the tiredness!!!
Am still plowing my way through the pile of washing but had to comment on your adventures. I have to say that you are made of sturdier stuff than me, with regards to the bugs. There was a very strange and horrible thing in Cyprus. It was some sort of insect that didn't seem to have any bones or skin, looking a bit like a baby bird crossed with a lizard!! Screamed like a girl!!!
Boys are good, reaquainting themselves with toys (tipping everything on the floor!) Leo has had quite a traumatic holiday in light of the fact that we have discovered that clowns, black men, face painted people, generally anyone that is dressed up scares the living shit out of him!! Poor little thing spent a lot of time clinging to Chris! Actually his reaction was quite comical!
Anyway the washing machine and tumble drier(in light of it being rainy and bloody cold!) need emptying and then refilling!
Will comment again tomorrow, have an amazing time in Italia, really wish we were coming to see you!
Love to you both

Hi Intrepids

The beasties sounded horrendous but you braved it well. I'm proud of you but I would have been out of there!!

I went to Ljubljana many years ago (when Yugoslavia was still in existence!) and it was a beautiful place, lots of little bars serving very nice food, good memories of the place.

Have a great time in Italy (the old home country eh Marli!) and I look forward to the next instalments.

Take Care and see you later

We've found a computer here on not so sunny anglesey. the keyboard is having trouble with the shift key - don't know why.

glad to hear everything's ok and SO sorry to hear you've lugged that tent all the way round europe and you're not going to use it!

Just climbed (nearly) halfway up snowdon - beautiful view. been shooting, riding and fishing (alan). Moving on to mid-wales tomorrow so will be totally out of touch. the cottage has gas lighting, fridge, no hot water, no electricity - but sounds a beautiful spot.

glad to hear you're both ok and the nasty insects didn't eat you all up.

be in touch when we can.

Lots of love - m&a
